The Psychological Development Of A Person Who Is Advanced

To begin to understand, the psychological development of a person who is advanced in years, it is imperative that his cognitive development be assessed. This is especially essential to understand of the course of a person’s development throughout their life. To begin, the cognitive theory is defined as, â€Å"Thoughts and expectations profoundly affect (ing) attitudes, beliefs, values, assumptions, and actions.† (TP. 45) With this understanding of what impacts cognitive development, it is clear to see how values and beliefs of a particular time can lead the participant to pursue marriage and settle down with a job at a young age as was customary at the time. This quote is parallel with the participant’s belief that cognitive growth occurred during the early years of his career due to his personal drive to embrace and utilize the opportunitie s given to him by his company. In addition, the factors in the participant’s life also, in a sense, â€Å"lined up† for success leading to a productive, prosperous future. These essential factors for competitive employment, while simple, are many times taken for granted. Factors such as good health and nurturing during his developmental years enhanced his ability to learn and become a productive adult. In addition, being an average size man, which was achieved through proper nutrition during childhood, was essential for maturation and optimal cognitive functioning during adulthood (Heinonen, 2014, p. 12). Clearly, all the aspects for cognitive development were available and utilized for the participant’s successful cognitive maturation throughout his life. Biosocial Development During the course of biosocial development, the human body goes through many changes if the person lives to or close to their full life expectancy.
